If you can't find the embroidery you are looking for in our embroidery sections, then feel free to have a look on embroidery design websites and email us if you find something you like. We will have a look and tell you whether it is a suitable format for our machine, and how much it would cost for us to embroider it for you.
We normally also charge a small one off fee (half the design price) for purchasing the design and adding it to our website.
Here is a good place to start:
Urban Threads (look in the machine embroidery section)
These two sites are particulary good for applique designs:
CUSTOM DIGITISING
If you can't find any designs that you like on the above sites, then we are able to digitise some images (turn a picture into an embroidery design), but please be aware that this can be a lengthy process.
***PLEASE NOTE – We cannot digitise a picture which is copyrighted without permission from the copyright holder. This includes football badges, cartoon characters, logos etc etc. To avoid disappointment, before seeking permission from the relevant person(s), it's worthwhile emailing us first to check that the image is suitable, and that we would be able to digitise it (if you can obtain permission).
If you are seeking permission for us to digitise and embroider a design for you, the person giving permission must be aware that we are selling the item to you, as some companies state that you cannot use the design on items sold for profit.***
Digitising is time consuming, basically we have to trace round every shape/different patch of colour in the picture using the embroidery software, and then generate the correct stitches (in the correct order) to go in each particular shape, this can take hours/days depending on the picture to be digitised. We have a queue of designs waiting to be digitised and we do them whenever we can, by fitting them in around our usual orders.
It can take about 2 months to do the actual digitising (this may be longer or shorter depending on the intricacy of the design, how many others we already have waiting, and how busy we are with our usual orders) IF YOU NEED TO DESIGN QUICKLY SEE THE INFO BELOW. Once it's finished we'll email you over a computer generated picture of it, so that you can check it, and we can make any changes that you'd like us to make. If/when you're happy with it, we can add it to the shop so you can buy it as normal with whatever you'd like it embroidered onto, the usual waiting time for that item will then apply as usual (i.e. usually 2-3 weeks from the date we receive the payment).
If the design is not copyrighted then the finished embroidery will go on the shop so that others can buy it too, this means that we won't charge you a digitising fee, just the usual fee for sewing it out. If the design is copyrighted but you have obtained permission for us to use it, then we may include a digitising fee, as it will be unlikely that we will be able to use the design again.
If after reading the above you are interested in custom digitising, please email us (weenotions at weenotions dot co dot uk) with as much info as possible and when we have all the information we need, we'll add you to the digitising queue.
Information we'd ideally have before we add you to the digitising queue:
1) A picture (preferably emailed to us) of the image you'd like to be digitised, ideally a good size/quality picture and preferably .jpg.
2) Emailed proof of permission from the copyright holder (if applicable), so we can keep a record of it.
3) Information about where the picture is from so that we are happy that it's not copyrighted (or alternatively permission from the copyright holder see above).
4) Information about the type and size of garment you'd like it embroidered onto so that we can make the design in an appropriate size.
QUICK DIGITISING - If you need your design digitised quickly then we can send it to a professional digitiser to do instead, BUT although it only normally takes a few days it is an expensive option, it usually costs between £20 and £50 for the digitising, we will then charge you a fee to stitching it out, plus the cost of the nappy. If you're interested in this option please email us to discuss it.
The products in this category are examples of our digitising. Some were digitised from hand drawn pictures, others from photos/computer images and others were designed and digitised by us (after being given a design brief).
